Award shows annoy me. They remind me that I’m not a famous person with tons of money, career stability, or fantastic curves. For these reasons, I almost never watch them (save for perhaps the Oscars every now and then, but even then I do so while playing a good game of Sega’s “Flicky” on another television, preferably a CRT).
The irony is, though, that award show promos and intro parodies are usually… amazing.
Enter: Barely Legal Pawn.
Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul reunite in perhaps the only promo to ever make me actually want to watch the Emmy’s. It’s smart, delightfully self referential, and most of all, flat out funny. Did I mention it has Julia Louis Dreyfus in it doing her “thing?” It does.
The real question here is… when is the premier? I’m serious. When does this show start? Because if this isn’t going to be a “real thing,” I’m just about ready to take out an unreasonably large loan, buy a TV studio, and order 13 episodes (with an option for a second season).
Actually, I suppose the question is… how do us lowly fans of viral videos convey the message to studio execs that we want (a lot) more of something that may appear to only be a novelty piece? At least 3 of my friends have said they would watch this show regularly… That’s a HUGE percentage of my friends! C’mon Netflix. Buy this.
In this time of tragic celebrity deaths, war in the Middle East, and racial tensions flaring up, I think what the world truly needs is a Pawn show parody we can all just laugh at. A pawn show parody with the Breaking Bad stars you say? THAT might just be what saves the planet.

Loved it! Especially when they poked fun at “supporting”.
